Thompson Engineering 2002 Limited, is trading as Thompson Construction & Engineering
Family owned in South Canterbury
Thompson Construction & Engineering is a Timaru based business, family owned for over 38 years. The company has become an industry leader and continues to grow and expand with an ever increasing demand for its services and products. Thompson offers the client the whole package, from initial design to your local authorities certificate of completion, they take the stress out of the project.
Have your building project managed from start to finish
With their expanding in-house design team they can now manage projects from start to finish so that their clients benefit from the many areas of experience that Thompson can provide. Their suite of 3D design software gives you the opportunity to view your building as a 3D model to help you visualise your finished product. The interactive software allows you to "walk through" your building. Control over the design and the manufacturing of that design gives Thompson the confidence to promise "If it fits in 3D, it will fit on site".
Thompson's experienced teams use their creativity and background ’on-the-tools’ skills to design and construct practical buildings which are sound and robust. With their in-house steel fabrication division they fabricate steel portal frames for agricultural, residential, commercial and industrial projects. Thompson is willing to work alongside your builder to fabricate the steelwork and help with installation. They offer the same service with Precast Concrete for non-residential projects and offer their services to manage the whole project from start to finish.
Thompson specialise in a wide range of products and services and has a strong customer base from Mid Canterbury to North Otago. As their capacity increases so does their ability to take on projects outside of the region, especially in Christchurch where demand is growing rapidly.
We stand beside our workmanship
Thompson Precast are now producing higher volumes of pre-fabricated concrete tilt panels designed to suit each particular project. The company values are based on the philosophy of workmanship and work ethics instilled by Lyndon in those early days and are being carried on and passed to the younger members of the business through ongoing leadership and management training within the company. Vaughan, Craig and Michelle have developed Thompson into an innovative, industry leader, which manages all types of building projects, from large warehouses, bulk stores and factories to smaller farm buildings and hangars, to offices and showrooms. Recent projects include Canterbury Long Run Roofing Washdyke, Drummond and Etheridge Rolleston, Rooney Earthmoving Bulkstore and Wilson Building Washdyke Complex.
